LAHORE: Independent Member of the National Assembly Jamshed Dasti on Tuesday reached Lahore and claimed that he would render his services to Imran Khan as a political worker.

Speaking to media representatives outside Pakistan Tehrik-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan’s Lahore residence, Dasti said he came to Lahore upon what he claimed as the PTI chairman's invitation.

Dasti, who claimed reaching Lahore an auto-rickshaw, said the way government was reacting clearly showed that its days were now numbered.

Dasti will leave Lahore with activists and supporters of the PTI for the ‘Azadi’ march in Islamabad on August 14.

He claimed that while he was en route to Lahore he was stopped by nearly 200 policemen and containers that were blocking the way.

The MNA also said he was made to wait on the roads for at least four hours.

Dasti added that he subsequently entered Lahore on an auto-rickshaw and vehicles filled with some 60 to 70 supporters followed him.

Dasti first came into media spotlight in 2010, when the Supreme Court disqualified him for contesting elections while holding a fake degree.

He was a Pakistan Peoples Party MNA at the time.

He recently attracted much attention over his unverified claims accusing fellow MNAs of openly indulging in immoral activities on the premises of Parliament Lodges — a claim snubbed by a special committee formed to ascertain those allegations.
