RECENTLY the Sindh government has reappointed a 68-year-old retired official as the chairman of the Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Human Resource Research and Development Board on a three-year contract with a huge salary, allowances and other benefits.

Surprisingly, the appointment was made without any advertisement or allowing anyone else to compete for the post. This is not only against merit, it is also injustice with those deserving candidates ( below 60 years) who were waiting for their promotion.

Also, this appointment is a clear-cut violation of the Supreme Court and the Sindh High Court orders in which it was mentioned that a person above 60 years is not eligible for any government post.
