LAHORE: On the directive of the government to celebrate the Independence Day throughout the month of August, the City District Government of Lahore launched the I-Day event at the Hazoori Bagh here on Friday.

Federal Ministry for Railways Khwaja Saad Rafique inaugurated the event by hoisting a national flag. The participants holding national flags in their hands jointly sang the national anthem.

MNA Shaista Pervaiz Malik, Adviser to CM Khwaja Ahmad Hassan, local MPAs, the DCO and other senior officials attended the ceremony.

Meanwhile, the town municipal administration has issued a detailed schedule of daily events till Aug 30 to mark the Independence Day.
