MIRPURKHAS: A man surrendered himself before the Satellite Town police late on Sunday night after killing his father-in-law and mother-in-law over a family dispute. His wife and another woman were also wounded in the attack.

The police said that Sobharo Mangrio had married Amamat some three years back but differences cropped up between them and the woman returned to her parents’ house a few months ago. Recently, she approached a court for divorce.

On Sunday night, Mangrio visited his in-laws in the Rahim Nagar area and, according to witnesses, opened fire killing his father-in-law, Allah Bukhsh Halepota, and mother-in-law, Maryam Halepota, on the spot and wounding his wife, Amamat, and a guest, Ms Khatija.

28 bonded labourers set free

The Mirpurkhas district and sessions court on Monday set free 28 bonded labourers after recording their statements.

The peasants, including women and children, were recovered in a police raid on the farmlands owned by a man, Wali Mohammad Mangrio, in Sindhri on Sunday. They were kept at the Sindhri police station overnight and produced before the court on Monday.
