DHA woes

I fully endorse the views expressed in the letter (July 20).

Not only is the Clifton Cantonment Board’s apathy towards residents appalling, it is also reprehensible as this is done by non-elected members. In all fairness the CCB should be run by elected representatives of the people who live there.

I can’t recall the last time I received water in the pipeline. Several complaints have had no effect. Meanwhile, influential people get uninterrupted and ample water supply.

The point raised in the letter regarding the dug-up Khayaban-i- Shujaat is also valid. Can the CCB clarify who authorised removal of the old divider and replace it with a more expensive one and why?

The DHA and cantonment board vigilance cells that are very quick to point out the slight change inside one’s house and harass residents seem to have disappeared.
