Two more witnesses questioned in treason case

ISLAMABAD: The counsel for Pervez Musharraf on Tuesday concluded cross-examination of two witnesses in the high treason case.

The special court, headed by Justice Faisal Arab of Sindh High Court summoned Khalid Rasool, FIA’s additional director for recording his statement on July 9.

On Tuesday, prosecution witnesses Taj Umar Khan, deputy solicitor, law ministry, and Talib Hussain, a PTV producer, testified before the court.

The producer said he handed over to the FIA a copy of Gen Musharraf’s speech aired on November 3, 2007.

He said on the direction of a general manager of PTV, he handed over the copy of the speech to Mr Rasool.

Musharraf’s counsel Hayat asked the deputy solicitor whether he knew Mr Rasool was not part of the team which probed the high treason case.

The solicitor replied that he was unaware of the fact but he provided documents to Mr Rasool after the FIA wrote a letter to the law ministry.
