DADU: An executive of a non-governmental organisation (NGO) was shot dead apparently by highwaymen in a locality known as Sim Nullah in Jamshoro town late on Saturday night.

Bakht Jamal Soomro, 40, was executive director of the Johi Organisation for Rural Development and Disasters. He, along with his family, was on his way to Dadu from Hyderabad when seven armed men, stated to be highwaymen, stopped his car at Sim Nallah and deprived the family of cash and valuables. Before leaving the crime scene, the highwaymen shot dead Mr Soomro, family sources said.
