Karachi gets second female SHO

KARACHI: The police authorities on Tuesday appointed one more policewoman a station house officer as part of a move to create ‘gender balance’ in the the law-enforcement agency.
Karachi East DIG Munir Ahmed Shaikh told Dawn that police inspector Zaibunnisa has been appointed Bahadurabad SHO in district east.
Previously, sub-inspector Ghazala Syed had been appointed Clifton SHO in district south.
The move was aimed at creating gender balance as half of the city population was female, while of the total 113 police stations in Karachi 111 police stations were still being headed by male SHOs, said the DIG.
Two police stations in Clifton and Bahadurabad have been selected on an ‘experimental basis’ where more resources and assistance would be provided by the police department to turn them into model police stations of Karachi, said DIG Shaikh.

Man is always a man..a woman can never be good as a man is..never means never. young educated men are jobless and u are keep filling women in job which do not even match the dignity of women that she really deserve. , u will repent one day as u are by own creating an imbalance . appalling and dismaying .

Can gender balancing in police department produce positive results? Instead of bringing improvement by showing sincerity,willingness,courage and devotion coupled with eliminating corruption we seek remedy in gender balancing. Mathematically this may sound correct but the fact is that women are more vulnerable than men specially in this obtaining situation going in Pakistan.

This is simply ridiculous. No matter how much they try to balance it out. It cannot be done. Policing is not the task women can handle. They are not made for it, no matter how masculine you made them. It will eventually only turn their nature down, nothing else.
They cannot handle thieves and robbers, the barbaric people of Karachi! In no way!

Some crimes against females should have only policewomen involved in the investigation and questioning of the female victims. This is how it's done in most developed nations. There's no way a male police officer would ever be allowed to question females who've been traumatized due to a violent crime.
It's commendable that this is turning a new page in law enforcement .. IA, may many more policewomen will be recruited and promote this progressive move in all of Pakistan's provinces, cities and villages.

Good news, second time around. Women have been proven as good cops. Firstly they do not curse, very seldom lie and are always ( most of the time ) respectful. They can pull the trigger of the guns as men. UK chief spy ( MI5 ) is a lady. Women today fly Boeing 777, F16 and are commander of NASA fights to moon. Inspector Zaibunnisa, you have made Pakistan proud. Good luck. By the way the end result can not be worst than men have performed.

this job do not match the dignity of women, why u people do not use ur intellect . u always criticize sitting at home, some jobs are male kind of jobs.both ,man and woman have their certain limits to perform jobs, jobs where she must not face difficulties that only a man can handle((remain out of home for days to perform remote duties and chasing criminals and to use weapon)). these limits do not mean that women has no rights but she has some limits to live in .women in police are important, as police has to deal with women criminals ,but u can say, or even can imagine that she can take the position of a man in police. I am all for female police officers, as long as they have to abide by the same standards expected of the male officers.
