KARAK: The Pakistan People's Party leader Shah Jehan Khattak has demanded of the party’s central and provincial leadership to take action against the elements who were harming the party’s interests in the district Karak.

Speaking at a press conference here on Saturday, he cautioned that if the leadership remained silent then the results of the upcoming local bodies’ elections would not be different from the general elections.

Mr Khattak said that all the senior leaders of the party at the district level had agreed to remove the district president of the party, but so far no action had been taken by the party leadership in this regard.

He claimed that in 2008 general elections PPP candidate for NA-15 secured 22,000 votes and in 2013 general elections the total votes were only 6,000.

He said that the provincial leadership was not taking disciplinary action against office holders who had supported other parties’ candidates in the last general elections.
