CHITRAL: Most of the participants of a forum here on Saturday complained about the inefficiency and failure of the district administration to control the prices of daily-use commodities and transport fares on different routes in Chitral.

The forum was arranged by Devolution Trust for Community Empowerment (DTCE).

Chairmen of different public safety committees of the union councils of Chitral sub-division termed the fixing of prices by the district price control committee a farce, as the traders did not follow these prices.

Altaf Gauhar advocate, Sajidullah advocate, Hasan Khan, Zahid Alam and others said that commuters on Chitral-Peshawar route were left at the mercy of transporters.

They said that non-local lady teachers never bothered to attend their schools while officers of the department did not take action in this regard.

A participant from Ashrait union council said that on his complaint about the absence of lady teacher in his village school for the last five years, the officers of education department came to the village to conduct inquiry against the teacher, but she was still absent.
