LAHORE: A sessions court on Wednesday issued a notice to Gulberg police on a petition moved by cricketer Umar Akmal seeking registration of a case against a traffic warden.

The player in his plea said warden Zeeshan stopped his car without any reason and issued him a challan ticket. He alleged that the warden not only misbehaved with him but also manhandled him and threatened him with dire consequences.

Akmal pleaded that an application was filed with the Gulberg police to register a case against the warden but to no avail.

He requested the court to order the police for registration of a criminal case against the warden.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Safdar Bhatti heard initial contention and sought a report from the Gulberg station house officer by March 8.
