Local IT firm to help Zimbabwe railways

LAHORE: DevBatch, a Pakistani enterprise mobility company, has been chosen by the National Railways of Zimbabwe (NRZ) to provide integrated solutions for mobile and web software solution after a rigorous selection process which included various international players.

An announcement on Thursday said the first project is to develop a website for NRZ's passengers to reserve and buy train tickets online. This website will aim to provide NRZ's passengers a simple, convenient and swift way of buying railway tickets.

DevBatch CEO Waqas Pitafi said, “We are very excited to have won these projects amid touch competition from international competitors. DevBatch is representing Pakistan at the world stage and we are proud to have boosted Pakistan's image in the global Information Technology (IT) industry.”—Staff Reporter

HBL, PIML sign collections agreement

KARACHI: Habib Bank Limited (HBL) and Primus Investment Management Limited (PIML), subsidiary of Pak Brunei Investment Company Limited, have signed a collections agreement to expedite the sales collections, which will enable PIML to consolidate funds more efficiently.

The collections arrangement will provide customers’ access to all HBL branches to make investments in multiple mutual funds, a press release said.

Bank Alfalah announces talent award

KARACHI: Bank Alfalah has recently launched a ‘Rising Talent — Discovering the Potential of Pakistan platform’ to provide opportunities for young talent in the country.

Under this umbrella, the bank will be introducing a ‘Rising Talent Award’ at the Fashion Pakistan Week 2014, a press release said.
