CHARSADDA: A local court sent to jail Qaumi Watan Party MPA Sultan Mohammad Khan after he was arrested by police on charges of terrorism.

Police said that the MPA visited Charsadda police station to set free five persons, arrested over firing in the air in Amirabad village. The lawmaker and his three bodyguards aimed guns at the law enforcers, they alleged.

SHO Mohammad Ejaz Khan registered a case against the MPA and his bodyguards under different sections of Anti-Terrorism Act and Pakistan Penal Code.

Police said that the MPA tried to force them to free the arrested persons besides using abusive language. Later, QWP workers blocked road briefly and criticised the provincial government for arrest of Mr Khan.
