TV plays of past

Published December 28, 2013

I AM perturbed watching dramas/soaps on various TV channels. The theme in majority of the dramas is pretty much the same. It shows family disputes, wealth matters and strained relations with spouse. It appears that we have no positive things to show other than gloom.

Now when there is so much depression because of poor law and order and high inflation, the viewers need some relaxation at night time by watching some good plays.

I vividly remember in early days we used to have good comedy shows like Alif Noon (Nanna and Kamal Rizvi), 50/50 and so on. After dinner, families used to be glued to their TV to enjoy these shows and have a good laughter.

Even in serial plays there used to be a role, albeit small for a comedian.

With the right guidance from TV producers and directors, I hope our writers will be able deliver the best to provide some good plays to promote our values.
