Chennai Express has created new records at the box office and has become the fastest entry to 100 crore club.

SRK's ambitious project Ra.One couldn't ring the bell at the box office. SRK starrer Yash Chopra's last film Jab Tak Hai Jaan too didn't fulfill the expectations of SRK's fans and the distributors. However, with Chennai Express SRK is happy to entertain audience. The box office collection of the film has reached 171.71 cr.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, "#ChennaiExpress Week 1: 156.70 cr. Week 2: Fri 6.5 cr [revised], Sat 8.51 cr. Total: Rs 171.71 cr."

Chennai Express made a box office record of 33.12 cr on its opening day. SRK also said that success of Chennai Express is good sign for Indian films.

It will be worth a wait to see whether SRK's Chennai Express manages to enter the 200 crore club. — TOI
