Islamabad, Jul 19 - The authorities continued to suspend the mobile internet services in the Kashmir valley for the second consecutive day on Friday.

The services were suspended in the territory following the killing of eight protestors by Indian troops in Gool area of Ramban district, yesterday. The move was made to prevent people from getting information about the present situation of the territory, KMS reported.

Officials of a cellular operator, Airtel, told media men on the condition of anonymity that the services were blocked after an order from the puppet authorities and would be restored only after receiving orders from the concerned authorities. However, no official preferred to comment over the issue, to confirm whether there was nay formal order issued or not.

This is the third time that authorities have barred mobile internet services in occupied Kashmir this year.

The services were suspended for days following the hanging of Muhammad Afzal Guru on February 9 and later again when a youth, Tahir Sofi, was killed by Indian troops in Baramulla town on March 5.
