KARACHI: Pakistan's trade deficit fell by 6.75 per cent for the first 10 months of the fiscal year 2012/13.

Pakistan's trade deficit for the first 10 months of the fiscal year 2012/13 (July-April) to $16.518 billion, compared with a deficit of $17.713 billion for the same period last year, the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics said.

Exports rose to $20.147 billion in (July-April) from $19.329 billion and imports to $36.665 billion from $37.042 billion. On a monthly basis, the trade deficit fell to $1.779 billion in April from $1.553 billion the previous month.

Exports totaled $2.130 billion in April and imports were $3.909 billion.
