Jiah Khan's body was brought to her Sagar Sangeet residence after postmortem around 7 am on June 5, and the burial took place in the afternoon.

Riteish Deshmukh, Sophie Choudry, Anju Mahendru, Prem Chopra, Urvashi Dholakia and the Panscholis — Aditya, Zarina Wahab and Suraj — were present at Jiah's home. But not all of them waited for the funeral procession to begin.

The actress' mother Rabiya and sisters were inconsolable. The last journey began around noon and headed for the Juhu cemetery, where Bollywood legends like Mohammad Rafi and Madhubala have been buried.

While industry seniors like Mahesh Bhatt and Raza Murad, and neighbours like Aloka Bedi (wife of Bollywood villain Ranjeet) and Deepak Parashar were the first ones to rush to her home, others came much later. Aamir Khan and his wife Kiran Rao came with some close friends and immediate family.

The actor had earlier told TOI that he was deeply pained to hear the tragic news because the young Jiah (his co-star in Ghajini) was a close family friend.

When Aditya arrived to offer condolences, he drove over a couple of tripods and a fracas ensued. Some media persons snatched his car keys and there was a heated exchange between the actor and the press. Of course, the sobriety of the occasion stopped tempers from flaring up further. And gloom once again descended as Jiah's body left on her last journey.

Earlier, on Tuesday afternoon, Suraj was questioned by the cops at Juhu police station. A friend of the Panscholis said, "Suraj responded to all the queries, starting from his first meeting with Jiah to his last interaction with her. He was allowed to leave after two hours."

poor kid . sounds like she had a very hard life. dad disowned her , step dad walked out, raised by single mom. she must have only needed a loving and caring companion. but sounds like she chose a jerk. driving over tripods and getting into arguments in an occasion like this is what u can expect from mr Pancholi. He has such a horrible reputation. he shouldn't have even come there.

@orange ixora: 2 questions for you: 1) can you well & truly say you are a muslim? 2) does it make a difference to you or anyone else in this world, whether she was a muslim, hindu, sikh, christian, jew, parsi, budhist and so on........ her soul is already with God & its calling to decide her religion ...... or is it urs?

Jiah Khan was born in New York and brought up in London and then she took the unwise decision of coming to India and had to commit suicide. Had she come to Pakistan instead of India, she would not have commited suicde

@Suman: "Why do you have to bring religion to everything?" This one line gives a very strong indication that neither are you a Muslim or a Pakistani. Islam is a complete religion which encompasses every aspect of life. So in answer to your question to orange ixora...why do we bring religion to everything? Because we are Muslims and our religion teaches how to behave in everysingle situation and areas of life.

PS: I specifically wrote that you are not a Pakistani, because Non-Muslim Pakistani's would know the answer to your question

@Khan: did you know her personally? If so, what made her so beautiful? I only ask because you say she was a beautiful person and I think you can only know that if you personally knew her and not otherwise

The soul will pour out of ones body like water from a cup if it(soul) is a good one.Everybody should try to make a good soul in the body by doing good.Only God has the right take ones soul it is purely divine not human
