OKARA, March 17: A woman was axed to death and her lover was shot dead allegedly by her five relatives in Dharmewala village on Friday.

Bina allegedly had an affair with Khurshid. Her father-in-law Sharif and accomplices Fakhar, Mukhtar, Sarfraz and an unknown man called Khurshid to her home and shot him dead. Later, they axed Bina to death.

Depalpur’s Sadar police have arrested Sharif.

ACCIDENT: A motorcyclist died in a road accident here on Friday.

Teenager Zeeshan Ali, a resident of Allahdad Colony, was riding a motorcycle when he saw a kite string falling on his bike. He caught the string with one hand and tried to handle his bike with the other, but he fell down. Another motorcyclist following him rammed into him, leaving him dead at the scene.

Zeeshan was the sole breadwinner for his mother, two brothers and two sisters after the death of his father.  —Correspondent
