SUKKUR, Jan 9: Two bank officers went missing after they left Ghotki for Sukkur early on Monday and their car was found abandoned in the town.

Relatives and colleagues of Iqbal Shaikh, manager of Habib Bank's Ghotki branch and his friend Raees Khan, an officer at the HBUs Fauji Fertiliser Company branch in Daharki, fear they had been kidnapped because they had not reached their destination.

Police later found the car abandoned outside a shop at the main roundabout in Ghotki near bus stand, according to Asim Iqbal Shaikh, son of Iqbal Shaikh.

The president of Habib Bank Officers Association's Sukkur chapter, Abdul Ghaffar Chandio, issued an ultimatum to Sukkur and Ghotki police to recover theircolleagues in 48 hours, else, the association would hold a strong protest.

No case was registered till late Monday evening.

KILLED: One Shah Baig was killed in an armed clash over a piece of plot in Lundi Tori area near Khanpur Mahar in Ghotki district on Monday.

Police took the body to Ghotki Civil Hospital and, handed it over to relatives after post mortem.

ACCIDENT; A motorcyclist was killed and another was injured when their vehicles collided head-on on a link road near Pano Akil in Sukkur district.

Arbab Indhar, 35, and Chuttal Mochi were coming from opposite directions when they collided. Arbab Indhar died on the spot and Chuttal Mochi was admitted to Pano Akil taluka hospital.
