PESHAWAR, Nov 28: Six people, including a Rescue 1122 worker, were killed in different incidents in Peshawar on Monday.

The fist incident took place at Naguman area on Charsadda Road where a dumper truck (C-Mardan) collided head-on with a car (FDQ-9782). Four people were killed while three were seriously wounded in the collision.

Those killed were identified as Aftab of Khatki Mamo village, Shahidullah of Baramat Khel, Mushtaq of Khatki Mamo and Warid of Hassan Khel Dheri. The injured included Wali Subhan, Rehmanullah and Abdur Rafiq.

A police official said the car was on its way to Peshawar and the dumper loaded with construction material was going to Shabqadar area of Charsadda district.

The injured were shifted to Lady Reading Hospital where their condition was stated to be critical.

In another case, a youth, Dilawar Khan, was shot dead by unidentified accused in limits of Gulberg police station. A complainant Mohammad Ilyas, father of the deceased, told police his son had come to Gulberg to meat his grandmother but as he left her house unidentified accused opened fire on him.

Similarly, body of a vendor Ghulam Habib was found at Beri Bagh, but his relatives avoided nominating anyone in the case. A complainant Mohammad Hashim told Agha Mir Jani police he was informed of his brother-in-law’s death when he was in Khyber Bazaar.

35 ARRESTED: The police on Monday arrested 35 people for offering resistance during an operation against encroachers.

A statement issued from office of district coordination officer Peshawar said the encroachments were removed in the areas of Charsadda Road, Landay Sarak, Bashir Abad, Pejagi Road, Mathra and Bakhshi Pul.

The anti-encroachment squad also demolished cabins and illegal structures in the areas.

The DCO had strictly directed the administrators of all the town municipal administrations to remain alert against the encroachments and ensure cleanliness in their areas.

BANNED: The government has placed ban on display of permitted weapons in view of security during the month of Muharram, said District Coordination Officer Siraj Ahmed Khan.

“We issued a notification today (Monday) to suspend all the arms permits issued to individuals. The step has been taken to ensure security during Muharram,” he said. Action will be taken against those violating the directives. The ban will remain in place till 10th of Muharram, he said.
