KASUR, Oct 18: A 10-year old boy, who was allegedly thrashed by a faith healer when he was suffering from fever in Mahalm village in Ganda Singhwala police precincts on Sept 25, died at the district headquarters hospital on Tuesday.

The police arrested faith healer Baba Shahbaz and registered a case (no 320/11) against him under Section 420 of the Pakistan Penal Code, but he got bail on Monday.

The parents of Shoaib said earlier he lost his eyesight because of thrashing at the hands of Shahbaz, who said the boy was under the influence of evil spirits.

However, the police have yet to receive Shoaib’s autopsy report to ascertain the cause of his death.
