KARACHI, Sept 24: The Pakistan Rangers seized on Saturday a huge cache of arms buried in an open plot in Surjani Town, an official said.

He said that following a lead Rangers personnel cordoned off the area near 4-K Chowrangi and reached the open plot where the arms were buried.

“The Rangers raid was conducted following information, extracted during interrogation of the suspects arrested recently,” said the official. “After digging out few feet, multiple bags carrying different kinds of arms were found, which were seized.”

He said that five AK-47 assault rifles, five shotguns, three light machineguns, over a dozen pistols, around 3,000 bullets and some 50 hand-grenades were seized in the raid.—Staff Reporter
