TIMERGARA, Sept 10: Civil Judge Ataullah Jan Gandapur, on the directives of Peshawar High Court chief justice, visited the district jail on Saturday and ordered release of five prisoners arrested for their involved in cases of petty nature.
The freed prisoners were identified as Izzat Khan of Dir Upper, Fazal Wadod of Timergara, Shamshad Mohammad of Danwa, Nisaruddin of Miagano Cham and Salim Gul of Siar Rabat. The civil judge also examined barracks of prisoners and inquired about facilities in the jail.
He also issued directives to the jail administration to provide basic facilities to the inmates. The local courts and judicial magistrates released several prisoners involved in cases of petty nature during the last days of Ramazan, sources said.
RALLY: The local chapter of Jamaat-i-Islami will take out a protest rally against the United States and its policies on Sept 11.
Talking to journalists here on Saturday, JI spokesman Malik Sher Bahadar said that people from all parts of Dir had been asked to reach the Allah-o-Akbar Mosque in Timergara before 9am on Sunday.
He said that a big procession would be taken out from the mosque. The protesters would march on Timergara-Balambat Road, he said.
