KARACHI: Speaker National Assembly Fehmida Mirza said that the situation is very worrying after heavy rains have displaced 1.8 million people and left another one lakh people in camps.

Speaking with DawnNews, Fehmida Mirza said that there was water everywhere during her trip with Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani to survey the damage caused by the floods.

She said that two people had been killed in Badin due to flooding. She said after timely steps taken by the government massive damage had been prevented. Fehmida Mirza also said that at the union council level medical teams have been set into operation.

At the same time she said that NGO's and international bodies have not stepped forward to help.
