SUKKUR, June 8: A policeman was kidnapped on Wednesday while returning to his hometown Thul after visiting a shrine.

Mohammad Ali Sial, wireless operator at Thull police station, had gone to Jahanpur in the Sarhad area of Ghotki. When he was returning to Thull he was kidnapped by unknown armed men.

Umed Ali Sial, brother of Sial told journalists the kidnappers had contacted him on cell phone and demanded ransom of Rs3 million. He had informed police about the kidnapping, he said.
