KOHAT, June 6: Unknown gunmen killed official of an intelligence agency and injured two others in firing in Bannu square in Thall tehsil of Hangu on Monday.

Officials said that subedar Naseem Jan and lance naik Abdullah of Military Intelligence were on their routine duty on a motorcycle when unknown armed men opened fire. Subedar Naseem Jan died on the spot while his subordinate Abdullah sustained bullet injuries.

A pedestrian, Ibraheem, was also injured. Both the injured were shifted to Combined Military Hospital, Thall. Soon afterwards the security forces launched a search operation in the area arrested 26 suspects. They were later shifted to some unknown location for interrogation.

The Thall police have registered a case against unknown terrorists and launched investigations. Meanwhile, a disciple shot dead a spiritual leader in Bilitang area on Monday. The disciple, Rashid, was present at the shrine of the Pir Badshah Jee Malangi when he pulled out his pistol and opened fire killing the spiritual leader on the spot. — Correspondent
