NAWABSHAH, April 21: Traffic was immediately suspended after an explosion on the main track between Shahdadpur and Lundo railway station on Thursday evening.

Sources said that at least a one-ft piece of track was damaged on the up-track after a bomb exploded at 263/2 miles between Shahdadpur and Lundo railway stations around 7pm.

Traffic on the main track was suspended and a number of express trains, including Pakistan Express, Karakoram Express and Allama Iqbal Express were stopped at Shahdadpur, Tando Adam and Jalal Mari police stations. A heavy contingent of police, rangers personnel and railway officials reached on the spot.

No railway official could be reached for comments. The up-track remained blocked till the filing of this report.
