Kidnap bid

GUJRAT, Feb 10: Police on Thursday claimed to have thwarted an attempt to abduct two persons on Sargodha Road near Sheikh Sukha Bridge in Kunjah police precincts. Afaq, 10, and Afshan, 5, children of Rashid of Khokhar Gharbi village, were being driven to school by driver Jamshed when five men stopped their car on the overhead bridge. They bundled Afaq and Jamshed into their car and fled, leaving Afshan behind.

Police were chasing the criminals when their car rammed into the bridge of Bhimber drain. The abductors left Jamshed, Afaq and their car and fled.—Correspondent
