LAKKI MARWAT, Nov 1: Police on Wednesday seized 493 bags of sugar and two kilograms of hashish in the limits of Naurang and Ghaznikhel police stations.

Acting on a tip-off, Shaheed Asmatullah Khan police station's staff raided a warehouse in Naurang city and arrested an alleged hoarder Usmanullah and seized 493 sugar bags and a truck (TKD-7141), which being unloaded.

A police official said that the sugar booked for Bannu was illegally unloaded in Naurang city with the aim of hoarding and selling it on high price. He said that a case had been registered against the accused.

In a separate action, Ghaznikhel police foiled narcotics smuggling bid and recovered two kilograms of hashish. According to police, they stopped a pickup van (TK-308) on Bannu-DI Khan road near Tajazai and during search two kilograms hashish was recovered from a passenger identified as Sanaullah. They said that a case had been registered against the accused. INSPECTION:

Micronutrient initiative (MI) field officer Sadiq Hussain and district food inspector Ziaullah also accompanied him. Owners and staff of the factories briefed the health officials about the process of iodized salt preparation.
