KARACHI: Young Indian prisoner being sent home

KARACHI, April 28: Narinder Uttam, a 17-year-old Indian fisherman arrested for trespassing into Pakistan’s coastal waters more than a year back, will be leaving for Mumbai by PK-274 on Wednesday.

Co-chairman of the Women and Juvenile Prisoners Welfare Committee, Central Prison Kara-chi, Justice (retd) Nasir Aslam Zahid, said here on Monday that Narinder was released on humanitarian grounds owing to his poor health condition.

Narinder is one of the 35 Indian prisoners languishing in the Juvenile Prison after being caught, along with 465 adults, while fishing illegally in Pakistani waters.—APP
