KARACHI, April 23: Naib City Nazim Ms Nasrin Jalil has said that Tuesday and Wednesday should be observed as meatless days in Karachi, like other parts of the country.

She told a delegation of the Meat Merchants Welfare Association here on Wednesday that a resolution in this regard would be tabled in the next session of the City Council.

The delegation, comprising Iqbal Qureshi, Saleem Qureshi, Qayamuddin Qureshi and others, maintained that at present

Wednesday and Thursday were being observed as meatless days in Karachi which was creating a lot of problems. This was not only making meat costly but also disrupting the supplies and encouraging illegal slaughtering, they added.—APP
