KARACHI, April 17: Eight ships carrying containers and crude oil are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where six ships -- Kapitan Byankin, APL Dallas, Hyundai Future, Filiffa, with containers, Thor Hawk, to load general cargo, and Iron Monger-2, to load naphtha -- were berthed.

Five ships, Kapitan Byankin, Jitra Bhum, Cape Negro, APL Pusan, and Mantsamut Naree, departed on Thursday, while Bulk Arrow, Hyundai Future, Antwerp Ace, Iron Monger-2, Orient Pride, and Brave-P are due to sail out on Friday.

A total volume of 0.137m tons comprising 51,887 tons of export cargo, including 1,443 tons of sugar, 5,843 tons of cement and 5,100 tons of clinkers and 85,399 tons of import cargo was handled on Thursday.

The following ships are due on Friday: Grigoroussa-1, Swat, with crude oil, Cape Arago, Ultima, Oel Mumbai, Sima Sahar, Y.M. Improvement and Far Singapore, with containers.
