KARACHI: Arbab barred from leaving country

KARACHI, April 15: Former Sindh chief minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim has been barred from leaving the country.

Officials said on Tuesday the name of the former CM had been placed on the Exit Control List by the federal interior ministry a couple of days ago.

They said the ECL was updated regularly and according to Monday’s update names of five people, who had been earlier barred from leaving the country, were removed by the federal authorities.

The officials said those removed from the ECL were Mohammed Salim, a former chief of Habib Bank; Ishrat Ali Khan, a former director of finance of the Social Action Programme; Abdullah Rahoja, a former director of Nadra, Quetta; Sultan Khalid Masood Khattak, a former cantonment district officer; and Mohammed Idrees, a former general manager of the PTCL, Quetta.
