KARACHI, March 20: Six ships carrying containers, palm oil, carbon oil, wheat and coal were allotted berths during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Thursday.

Meanwhile, three more ships with containers, palm oil and wheat also arrived at the outer anchorage.

Nine ships, San Andress, Al-Mirqab, Leopard-B, Venus-7, Varden, Nored Vision, Theo-T, Tiru Malal and Anna, were busy in loading and unloading containers, cement, palm oil, tallow oil, wheat, phosphoric acid and coal.

A cargo volume of 65,331 tons comprising 50,789 tons of import and 14,542 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Five ships, Nedlloyed Africa, Maersk Ohio, Al-Mirqab, San Andres and Leopard-B, left the port on Wednesday, while Theo-T and Tiru Malal were due to depart on Thursday.
