Sunni Tehrik opposes MQM-PPP alliance

SUKKUR, Feb 27: The Sunni Tehrik has warned of protest movement if the Muttahida Qaumi Movement is included in next Sindh government by the Pakistan People’s Party.

An ST meeting held here on Wednesday and presided over by its provincial leader Maulana Noor Ahmed Qasmi discussed the present political situation.

The meeting alleged that the MQM was involved in the killings of ST leaders at Nishtar Park. It alleged that ST workers were subjected to atrocities by MQM activists, while Karachi and Hyderabad had become no-go areas for ST workers. The meeting alleged that false cases were also registered against ST workers.

Leaders of the ST said that they had withdrawn their candidates in favour of PPP’s candidates, but the leadership of PPP was disappointing Sindhis by taking MQM into their coalition.
