60 arrested in Quetta, claims BNP

QUETTA, Nov 28: The Balochistan National Party (Mengal) has alleged that police arrested 60 Baloch youths in different areas of the provincial capital on Tuesday night and humiliated people during raids on their homes.

Former MPA Akhtar Hussain Lango said at a press conference here on Wednesday that about 150 Baloch people had been arrested in Killi Ismail, Hudda, Brewery Road, Deba and Killi Qamrani during the past month.

He cautioned the government that the BNP-M would act strongly against oppression.

He urged the government to take notice of the ‘excesses’ of the Superintendent of Saddar Police, Nasser Rajput, who had allegedly insulted people during raids.

He said setting up of pickets in the streets of the Baloch areas in the city and raids on their houses were aimed at harassment but such act could not force them to give up their struggle against the oppressors.

He warned that the government would be responsible for the consequences if police did not stop midnight raids on houses.

Merging for what?

Merging for what?

The concern is that if the government is thinking of cutting costs through the merger, we might even lose the functionality levels we currently have.
