PESHAWAR, June 13: At least 20 people were brought to the Lady Reading Hospital on Wednesday on complaints of heatstroke as temperatures in the city continued to hover around 43 degrees Celsius, with humidity touching 46 per cent.
Hospital sources said the people brought to the LRH had been affected by the sweltering heat. Humid conditions made it difficult for the people to move around.
The city’s streets looked deserted and people preferred to stay indoors to escape the harsh weather. The heatwave is forecast to continue for another couple of days.
Meanwhile, Kohat and Lakki Marwat districts were hit severe wind and dust-storm on Tuesday and Wednesday, bringing down the temperatures in the two districts.
