Port Qasim

KARACHI, May 10: Berthing activity was very slow at the Port Qasim where only one ship carrying 71,409 tons of furnace oil was accommodated berth during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Thursday.

Meanwhile, a container ship also arrived at the outer anchorage.

Six ships, Hyderabad, Afamia, Pont Land Bay, Maersk Barry, Gri Goroussa-1 and Lady Jasmine, were busy in loading/offloading rice, cement, canola seeds, edible oil, furnace oil and chemicals.

A cargo volume of 48,948 tons comprising 45,650 tons of import and 3,298 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailings were active as Al-Maqwa, Maersk Barry and Lady Jasmine left the port.
