KARACHI, April 25: A leading stage and TV artiste is set to launch a permanent children’s theatre in the city. It will formally begin on Saturday.

According to organisers, Talat Hussain would organise and supervise the theatre, which would be staged at the Arts Council Auditorium twice a week —Saturday and Sunday.

“The objective of this project is to present age-appropriate, high-quality theatre for children, families and the community,” said Talat.

“This theatre will enhance and reinforce the school curriculum,” he added.

According to organisers, the theatre would feature a variety of theatrical performances throughout the year including mime shows, stage plays by professionals for children and plays by children themselves.
