KARACHI: Rs8bn sewage project

KARACHI, April 24: The city government would soon start work on Rs8 billion project for treatment of sewage before it goes into the sea.

This was stated by City Nazim Mustafa Kamal in a meeting with a delegation of an NGO, Hisar Foundation, at his office on Tuesday.

Explaining the salient features of the project, the nazim said the city’s sewage would be treated and another treatment plant would be added to the existing treatment plant to ensure 100 per cent treatment of sewage.

He said there was a threat of contagious diseases outbreak if the city government had not initiated repair of old water and sewerage lines besides laying new ones.
