KARACHI: Power cuts continue

By A Reporter

KARACHI, April 11: Residents of various localities in the metropolis on Wednesday complained of intermittent and prolonged power suspensions. A consumer from Karimabad said power supply to the area was suspended at 11am and was not restored till 6.30pm. He said the Karachi Electric Supply Corporation helpline, ‘118,’ was also kept busy.

Another complainant from Gulshan-i-Ghazi said power supply to the area was suspended at 3pm and was not restored till 7pm.

He said though load-shedding was announced for an hour-and-a-half, the power supply was suspended regularly for four to five hours daily.

Complaints of power suspensions were also received from Defence View, Manzoor Colony, Azam Basti, Azam Town, Akhtar Colony, Orangi Town, Saddar, Landhi, North Nazimabad, Dr Ziauddin Ahmed Road, I.I. Chundrigar Road, Federal B Area, Gulistan-i-Jauhar, Gulshan-i-Iqbal, Defence Phase 2, Kashmir Town, Karachi Administration Society, PECHS Green Belt, Korangi No 3 (UC -4), and Clifton Block-4.

Complainants said that power supply to the localities was repeatedly suspended during the day. They said due to load-shedding water was also not supplied to the areas. Efforts were made to get KESC’s version, but the spokesman could not be contacted via telephone.
