Six die in separate incidents

ISLAMABAD, April 2: Six persons died in separate incidents during the last 48 hours in twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad, police said on Monday. In the first incident, Sadiq Masih, 70, was murdered with a sharp piece of metal and his body was thrown near Police Line Headquarters in the jurisdiction of Sabzi Mandi police station.

The body was shifted to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) for legal process. The motive behind the murder is yet to be ascertained.

In the second incident Ajmal Hussain, 24, a resident of Chani Moso Khan, committed suicide by shooting himself with 12 bore licensed rifle of his father in the jurisdiction of Sihala police station. The police claimed that the deceased had some psychiatric problems.

In the third incident a girl was killed while another injured after they were hit by a speeding vehicle (HR-861) driven by a senior officer of Wapda. The two girls were crossing road at Constitution Avenue.

They were shifted to a nearby hospital where one of them pronounced dead by the doctors while the other was said to be in critical condition.

In another incident, Mohammad Imran, 25, drowned in Rawal Dam. The incident came to light when some passers-by informed the police that a body was floating on the surface of the water.

The police retrieved the body from the dam and shifted it to Pims for legal process.

In the last incident Niaz Mohammad, 26, was shot dead when he was sleeping in his house at New Town, Rawalpindi.

He received eight bullets of 30 bore pistol on different parts of the body.

Meanwhile, Bagh Ali, a constable at Golra Police station died of his injuries in a hospital.

The constable suffered multiple injuries when some thieves attacked him in the jurisdiction of Shalimar police station on January 27.
