KARACHI: Free eye camp held

KARACHI, April 2: A free eye camp under the auspices of the Department of Sociology, KU, in collaboration with Al-Ibrahim Trust was organised at Bhangoria Goth in Azizabad here on Monday.

This was stated by a spokesman for the University of Karachi. Eye specialists Dr Fazal Kamal, Dr Nasir Bhatti and Dr Zahid Hussain examined patients and medicines were provided to them free of charge.

In addition to this, cataract operation was recommended for 15 patients who visited the camp.

The final year students of the KU’s Sociology department also gathered data about the visiting patients.

The spokesman further said that aim of the activity was to devise a strategy for community development so that the students under the supervision of teachers could identify the socio-economic problems of the down-trodden class of the society.—APP
