Yasin for resolving Kashmir amicably

LAHORE, March 15: Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman Yasin Malik on Thursday underlined the need for involvement of Kashmiris in the peace process to resolve the issue amicably.

He was talking to newsmen during his brief stopover at the airport here on Thursday evening.

He said the issue could not be resolved without the participation of people of Kashmir in the peace process.

Mr Yasin said Pakistan, India and Kashmiris were stakeholders and involvement of all the three in the peace process was essential for the resolution of the issue.

Replying to a question regarding President Musharraf’s four points for resolution of Kashmir dispute, he said Pakistan, being one of the three stakeholders, has the right to give any suggestion on the issue.

He said he would discuss the issue at this crucial time with intellectuals, scholars and opinion-makers during two-day International Conference on Kashmir commencing from March 16 in Islamabad.

The conference is being jointly organised by the Institute of Strategic Studies and Kashmir Institute of International Relations with the support of Ministry of Kashmir Affairs.—APP
