Auto industry

FRANKFURT, Feb 3: The German automotive industry will invest billions to improve its carbon dioxide (CO2) emission technology due to the increasing risk of global climate change, the German auto association VDA said on Saturday.

“The Germany automotive industry will take a leading and constructive role in this process (to prevent climate change) and invest an amount in the high-billions to do so,” President Bernd Gottschalk said in a guest commentary published in the Stuttgarter Nachrichten. The European Commission is set to unveil its CO2 reduction strategy for autos next week.—Reuters
