KARACHI: Course on burn care at DUHS


KARACHI, Nov 13: The Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) started a pilot course for doctors on essential burn care at its Professional Development Centre here on Monday.

The course in question has been designed jointly by the DUHS, West Burn Centres, Swansea, UK and Burn Centre, Indore, India. These three countries are currently the part of Interburns.

Interburns is a growing network that has been developed in response to the global burden of disease represented by injuries. Selected doctors from various cities of Pakistan including Lahore, Sadiqabad, Badin, Rawalpindi, as well as, doctors from different institutes of Karachi are attending the course. This course will cover all aspects of multidisciplinary burn care, ranging from prevention strategies to rehabilitation.

Interburns has designed this course in order to empower doctors in burn prevention strategies, and in the management of burns at the district hospital level.—PPI
