KARACHI: 26 vehicles, 48 cellphones taken away

KARACHI, Oct 3: As many as 74 people were deprived of their cars, motorbikes or cellular phones in various localities here on Tuesday.

Police sources said that 26 vehicles – 11 cars and 15 motorcycles – were either snatched or stolen by bandits. Four people reported that they were taken at gunpoint by bandits who took away their cars.

Seven others reported that their cars were stolen. Six motorcycles were snatched at gunpoint and nine others stolen.

Forty-eight people were deprived of their mobile phones. Of them 21 reported that they were held at gunpoint by bandits who snatched their cellphones, cash and other belongings. Twenty-seven other cellular phones were reported stolen.
