KARACHI, July 8: Five ships carrying containers, chemicals and to load naphtha and rice are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Sunday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was slow where four ships, Mastro Giorgis-2, to offload urea, Oel Aishwarya to unload and load containers, Sea Rose and Leopard to load general cargo were berthed.

But departures on the other hand were on the higher side as nine ships departed after loading and unloading cargoes. They are: Corin Thaikos, Calvin P. Titus, Nicolas-S, Leopard, Thor Energy, Ashraf Bay, Alycia, Johar and Antonis, while Sinar Bontang, Ikan Selar and Capetan Lefteris are due to depart on Sunday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where a total tonnage of 0.104 tons comprising 23,822 tons of export cargo and including 1,441 tons of rice and 79,679 tons of import tonnage, which also included 5,092 tons of sugar.

The following ships are due on Sunday: Oriental Protea, to load 2,500 tons of ethanol, Bun Chin, to offload 3,500 tons of chemicals, CMA CGM Simba, Maersk Alabama, to unload and load containers and Lai King to load 13,500 tons of rice.

The following vessels are due on Monday: Kota Teraju, Bunga Delima, Mol Kauri, to unload and load containers, Tai Harmony, to offload 40,018 tons of DAP fertiliser and Orionis, to unload and load general cargo.
