KARACHI: Three killed in separate incidents

KARACHI, June 3: Three persons, including a woman, were killed in separate incidents in different areas of the city on Saturday. Police said that Mohammad Alam, 40, was standing near the terminus of Masha'allah Coach in Steel Town police limits when some armed men sprayed him with bullets. As Alam fell to the ground, the assailants ran away. Alam was taken to a hospital where the doctors pronounced him dead.

Police could not find any clue to the killers and the motive behind the murder.

In Korangi Industrial Area, some armed bandits intercepted motorcycle of Ramazan, who was going along with his wife to Liaquatabad, near Allahwala Town. As they tried to snatch cash and other valuables, Ramazan’s wife Gulzar Begum raised alarm. The bandits shot at her and made off with the loot. The victim was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

In Mauripur, a truck driver was killed over a petty issue.

Police said that Rana Saeed tried to park his truck at a specific place in Mauripur Truck Stand but some other drivers objected to it. This led to exchange of hot words between Rana Saeed and Johar, Irfan, and Sohrab.

Subsequently, one of the drivers hit him with an iron rod. Rana Saeed suffered head injuries and died on the spot. His body was shifted to a hospital where doctors said that the victim was hit by a blunt weapon.

Police arrested Johar, Irfan, and Sohrab for the murder and registered a case.

DROWN: Two men drowned in the sea at different places and their bodies were retrieved here on Saturday.

The body of an unidentified man, in his early 30s, was found washed ashore on the Hawksbay beach. Another body was found at Keamari beach. Both the bodies were dispatched to the Civil Hospital for autopsies. The cause of their drowning could not be known.
